Guidance and Psychological Counseling

Undergraduate, matsre's degree and doctoral degree programs are carried out in the Major of Guidance and Psychological Counseling.

Graduates from the undergraduate program can serve as psychological counselors in schools and guidance-research centers (RAM) affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. Recruitment of personnel to the relevant institutions is done by public personnel selection exam (KPSS). 

Apart from public institutions, our undergraduate graduates are able to serve as psychological counselors in private education institutions and other institutions that provide private psychological counseling services.

Students who graduate from the undergraduate program can continue their education by applying to the graduate programs. Graduate programs generally accept students based on their undergraduate GPA, academic graduate education exam (ALES) score and foreign language exam score (YDS or YÖKDİL).

In the Master's program (with thesis), students are expected to complete ten (10) courses, take the seminar course, submit master thesis proposals and submit their theses under the supervision of thesis advisors within a maximum of three (3) years / six (6) semesters.

In the doctorate program, students are expected to complete ten (10) courses, take the seminar course, pass the doctorate proficiency exam, give doctorate thesis proposals, enter the thesis  committee at least three (3) times under the supervision of thesis advisors, and submit their theses maximum six (6) years / twelve (12) semesters.
